Yellow Submarine is a 1968 American-British animated film directed by George Dunning. Initially driven by the desire to "push animation beyond the limits previously reached in terms of style, type and tone", Yellow Submarine was a huge success upon its release and quickly established itself as a masterpiece, both for its psychedelic and colorful aesthetic, and for its technical advances which would leave a lasting mark on the world of animation.
