The Barbican Art Gallery hosted Boom for Real, the first large-scale exhibition in the UK of the work of American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988). One of the most important painters of the 20th century, Basquiat made his debut in the late 1970s in the post-punk underground art scene of downtown New York. This retrospective, the artist’s most comprehensive to date, pays tribute to this legendary painter and traces the journey of the “Little Prince of the Underground.”

Au Barbican Art Gallery s'est tenu l'événement « Boom for Real », la première exposition à grande échelle consacrée au Royaume-Uni à l'œuvre de l'artiste américain Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988). L'un des peintres les plus importants du XXe siècle, Basquiat a fait ses débuts à la fin des années 1970 dans la scène artistique underground post-punk du centre-ville de New York, cette rétrospective, la plus complète de l’artiste à ce jour, rend hommage à ce peintre de légende et retrace le parcours du « Petit Prince de l’underground ».
